The "Queen of Mean" returned to Comedy Central's Roast for a historical moment - The Hoff was up for grabs, and only A-list comedians were called upon to roast the former Baywatch star and famous German singer. One of them included comedian Lisa Lampanelli. Lampanelli returned to roast for Comedy Central's special on David Hasselhoff, which aired Sunday, Aug. 15.
Among the long list of celebrities that she's roasted in the past are Larry the Cable Guy, Chevy Chase, Pamela Anderson, William Shatner and Jeff Foxworthy. If you can take the loud-mouthed comedy that comes from this leading female comedian, pick up Lisa Lampanelli tickets from StubHub today.
One of the original and most well-known roasters, Lampanelli is sure to leave the Hoff burnt to a crisp after she tackles him on the latest Comedy Central special. Fans of this queen know that she isn't afraid to tackle anything, and she has been known to set everything ablaze, from racial issues to dead celebrities and more. Fittingly, Lampanelli is also a regular on The Howard Stern show on Sirius Radio, returning late June after nearly fourth months off the air. She regularly hosts the Howard 101 special as well as Howard 100.
Currently on tour, Lampanelli will hit cities like St. Louis, Mo.; Pittsburgh, Pa.; Ithaca, N.Y.; Minneapolis, Minn.; Calgary, AB; Miami Beach, Fla.; San Francisco, Calif.; Los Angeles, Calif.; Washington, D.C.; New York; Chicago, Ill.; and others through January. Lampanelli is currently supporting her memoir "Chocolate, Please: My Adventures in Food, Fat and Freaks," which appeared in September 2009 and spits out insults across the country as a regular standup.
The Connecticut native didn't start her comedy routine until age 30 after a few years as a music journalist and another few as a teacher. A fan of Don Rickles, Lampanelli likes to call herself the female version of the star, mixing estrogen with a bit of Archie Bunker too. Known for her putdowns, Lampanelli didn't start as confident as she seems. It took 16 years to really reach mainstream success. "From the start, I kind of liked effing with the crowd a little bit and making fun of the emcee. And then eventually I liked it so much it grew and grew into what I wanted to do."
In 2002 Lampanelli was asked to join Comedy Central's NY Friars Club Roast when Chevy Chase was on the block. A favorite among the group of roasters, she moved on to BET's "Comic View" and Comedy Central's "Premium Blend." She returned to roast Jeff Foxworthy as the only female, which started her role as roast moderator. In 2005 Comedy Central gave her a one hour special "Take it Like a Man," which eventually became her debut CD and DVD. Two years later she returned with the Comedy Central special Dirty Girl, another album that charted fourth on the Billboard Comedy Charts. Dirty Girl was eventually nominated for a Grammy Award for 2007's Best Comedy Album.
She's a favorite on the Comedy Central network as well as VH1, MTV and CMT, and Lisa Lampanelli tickets from StubHub are sure to guarantee you a great night of laughter.
