We began to host a 2 part series on hearing troubles and noise pollution in the past week. According to most people, this is the third pollution problem.

Anyone who works for long periods of time in conditions of loud and continuous noise is in danger of losing part or nearly all of his hearing.

Blame it on tractors and other similar machines that run full on long hours. Trouble can be created after ringing is heard in the ears after exposure to loud and noisy kinds of machines.

However, it has been reported by a group of industrial hygienists that being exposed occasionally to loud noise a few minutes a day will not cause permanent hearing loss.

Maintaining machines well will certainly keep the stinging sounds out of the usual engine noise. In the case of a malfunctioning muffler, replacing it with the specific kind should be done.

Maintaining the exhaust pipe opening up and situated far from the operator must strictly be followed. Even as you attempt to muffle the noise, it will still come out on a tractor or combine cab if its exhaust stack ends below the top of the cab.

A university research found that instead of minimizing noise, adding a cab in the test tractor even furthered it.

By more insulation added to a traditional tractor cab's interior, you can significantly eliminate sound levels. A one inch fiberglass over all metal surfaces that includes the roof area is enough insulation.

On the cab floor, two layers of insulation were placed, followed by the original rubber floor mat covering.

But you cannot use just any insulating material. Materials have more acoustical properties than others.

Kits of material for sound proofing are now coming on the market. For existing cabs, such can be employed to improve sound levels.

It would be good to move engines, air compressors and other noise makers away from the workers by relocating those machines into a different room.

But then try rotating jobs so that not one person is immersed for more than the minimum time without a chance to recuperate from the extremely loud noise, if the relocation of equipment is not practical.

Keeping the worker from the din can be done with sound deadening materials. However, most times call for the worker to do preventive measures to ensure his hearing is safe from the surrounding racket.

With ear muffs, car stuffing and ear plugs, this can easily be done.

Ear muffs can protect the best when in areas of high pitched sounds such as jet airports or large turbocharged engine sites. If fitted in the right manner, most of its styles are truly comfortable.

A nice, snug fit in the ear is a must if they are to create good. However, these do not alter what you hear around your equipment.

The flow of the quieter sounds will be much easier as soon as the loud noise is cut out.

Similar to ear muffs, these noise control plugs for the ear are very handy, effective and extremely affordable.

Make sure that a doctor or nurse helps you out for they know how to size it to the comfort and effectiveness you want.

They will not come as natural for the first few minutes but a little after, you will barely feel that they are within your ear. You can purchase them for different workers as they are extremely affordable.

Ear plugs created only for swimming are not effective sound controllers. They will never be up to this kind of job.

Stuffing the ear with cotton balls is a very ineffective way to control sound.

But then disposal ear plugs can be made from many substances available. This is known in another term, Swedish wool.

If you constantly work around noise making equipment without any form of protection for the ears, you are facing bug trouble.

At the latter part of your life will you wish that you invested in hearing protection instead of paying so much on medical treatment and hearing aids.
