We all have several electronics in our home, and many among us have 2 to 3 pc's or if we've got a large family perhaps four or even more. Most of us typically buy a new one every 3 to 5 years. Now how do we go green and recycle our old computers? Do we simply toss old computers in the junk and expect the sanitation department to recycle them?
Well, I couldn't depend upon the waste companies to recycle our old computers. The first place to begin is simply by making a phone call to your city in which you reside. I do know that in my residence of Roswell, Ga. all we must do is drive to the recycling center and locate the perfect site to get rid of the old computer to be recycled. I know in Atlanta you're able to drop off computers for recycling at Grady High School every third Saturday. In either instances you must have a legitimate Identification for those cities perhaps a driver license.
Furthermore , i went to the EPA administration website and found that one place on cyberspace it is possible to go is www.earth911.com. You merely put in the term computer along with your area code and up pop a list of recycling locations in your area. I found that Staples operate in the shopping center nearby compared to the city recycling center being across town and will for 10 dollars accept my computers, monitors and printers.
So why do we recycle old computers? Well many computers have materials which might be deemed as harmful waste material, if we simply throw away these in the landfills they have a possibility to cause harm to the planet in which we live. Likewise by reclaiming materials in the computers they can produce other invaluable purposes, which would assist to lower the load on resources.
Once when I was a kid I noticed a stream filled with old cars and thought just how hideous how come people do that? The pure beauty of nature is enhanced if we recycle. So go green with all your old computers and keep America beautiful.
