Installing a phone business system is a great option for everyone who wants it. This is a way where you can save time and money in the office. In addition, it also prevents you from losing a potential business even when you are out of town. A good example of office phone system is known as the PABX System which simply stands for Private Automatic Branch Exchange.
On the other hand, the acronym PBX stands for Private Branch Exchange. This is mainly used for a telephone exchange that is used in businesses or in the office. This is opposed to one as a common carrier or telephone company provides services to many businesses or to the general public. PBX is also known as PABX (Private Automatic Branch Exchange) and EPABX (Electronic Private Automatic Branch Exchange).
PABX system is used to make connections among the internal telephone lines of private organizations. Basically, these organizations are business oriented and that they are also connected to a PSTN or Public Switched Telephone Network through the use of trunk lines. When important things are to be incorporated inside the business place like modems, fax machines, telephones, and many others, they would soon be called as 'extensions'.
PBX is differentiated from the key systems in which the user selects the outgoing lines manually. On the other hand, PABX phone system has the capability to select automatically. As a matter of fact, there are hybrid systems that combine both features. Right from the very beginning, the main advantage of PBX system is to provide cost saving internal phone calls and handles the circuits so it has the ability to locally reduce the local phone charges. As PBX continues to become popular, it continued to offer other services than the operator network. Some of these services are call forwarding, hunt groups, and extension dialing. In the early 60s, there has been a simulated form of PBX which was known as Centrex which provided similar services and features as central phone exchange.
During the 90s, there have been important developments which promoted the development of two PBX systems. These developments are the immense growth of data network and public awareness regarding packet switching. Many companies made use of packet switched networks for their public telephones. This was very tempting and with the vast availability of internet, the system made packet switched communication more attractive than before.
So those are the things that help in the development of VoIP Phone System (Voice over Internet Protocol). One of the most important things that were contributed by PABX System was the fact that most of the companies realized that they did not have the core competence to handle the telephone status of their companies so they have decided that this should be done by someone else like PABX.
