Swift Optics was formed in 1926 in Colorado. Since that time, they have been creating good quality optical devices that are used in a number of different sports and fields. Like the majority of optical companies, they provide an assorted variety of optical products like riflescopes, binoculars, and spotting scopes. When it comes to rifle scopes, Swift offers a full line of products that will cover just about everything except muzzleloaders. .

Swift breaks their scope offerings down into two groups: the SwiftReliant family and the SwiftPremier family. Both series are substantially different. The SwiftReliant is an entry level series of 7 scopes which includes both fixed and variable powered models. All the variable powered models inside the Reliant series are produced in a 3X9 variable configuration. The SwiftReliant is designed for the budget minded or occasional hunter that wants a rifle scope that performs without breaking the bank.

If the SwiftReliant doesn't offer the power or options that you prefer, consider looking into the SwiftPremier series. This series offers 24 variable powered models that range from a 2.5 power up to an 8X32X50. Featuring higher quality glass, the Premier series offers more light gathering and a better picture compared to the SwiftReliant models. If you happen to be in the market for a great scope, try to SwiftPremier 671M. This model features a huge 50mm objective which allows as much light as possible into the scope. The 3X9 adjustable power is great for close to medium range shooting. If you prefer a longer distance model, consider the Swift 672M. It's 6-18x50 adjustable objective has more than enough power for most long distance shooting.

There are some other differences between the two different scope levels. The Reliant series come with a limited 2 year warranty, while the Premier series has a lifetime warranty. The Premier series utilizes better quality components so it features a higher quality, more crisp picture.

Although Swift currently doesn't have any scopes targeted at blackpower shooters, they do offer a relatively new line of pistol scopes. They offer six models that include 5 fixed power models and one low powered 2X6 adjustable.

If you are in the market for a nice scope and don't want to pay $200 or more, then the Swift series might be a good fit for you.
