Crested Butte is about to commence a five-year enhancement of its facilities but it is hard to see how the existing facilities can be improved because of their high quality levels. The resort has a vertical drop of 3000 feet, 88 trails and over 1000 acres of skiable terrain, and an array of high speed ski lifts.
Summit County offers a choice of four separate ski resorts which are all located within 20 min drive of one another. The resorts, Breckenridge, Keystone, Copper Mountain and Arapahoe Basin, provide a huge variety of skiing experiences.
