A century and a half of history backs the fine optical goods Zeiss Optics has provided from the city of Jena in Germany. Organized by Carl Zeiss and Ernst Abbe in 1855, Zeiss was the very first corporation to create lenses from the technological principles of physics and the wave theory of optics.

During the ravages of the second world war, Zeiss supplied most of the optical merchandise employed by the German Army - including periscopes, binoculars, and lastly riflescopes. A set of Zeiss binoculars were allegedly used by the infamous German Field Marshal Erwin Rommel, and several hundreds of WWII collectors claim that they own that very pair of binoculars.

With the division of Germany in the aftermath of the war, Zeiss Optics divided into the Carl Zeiss business in Oberkochen, Germany and the Schott Glaswerke in Mainz, Germany. Carl Zeiss maintained control of the the Zeiss organization, while Ernst Abbe directed the Glasswerke organization. Until 1990, the businesses worked in a largely independent style, but within weeks of the reunification of Germany, they united again under the name of Zeiss Germany.

The designs resulting from Zeiss drew the most public and media interest in the technological realm, with the creation of new telescopy and microscopy technologies, including significant improvements to the electron microscope and instruments used in the space probe "Galileo."

Less noticeable and well known, however, were the improvements Zeiss Optics made to military services products - which includes some of the finest sniper rifle optics ever developed, and exceptional night vision components.

Zeiss Optics rifle scopes provide the same high-quality qualities you expect in a scope; O-ring seals, nitrogen fill for fogproofing, and truly waterproof seals. Furthermore, they provide a lifetime transferable guarantee, allowing even secondary owners to keep the benefits of Zeiss Optics warranty service.

When the topic is rifle scopes, Zeiss Optics offers unequalled quality; lower weights, increased fields of vision, and greater ranges of magnification are par for the course in every Zeiss Optics product.
Author Resource:- Zeiss rifle scopes are among the oldest and most well respected scope manufacturers in the world with a scope making background that dates back to World War I.
