Yahoo! Search owned by Yahoo! Inc. is the second most popular search engines in the world. Initially the company started as a web directory for other websites that it organized hierarchally. It evolved as a search engine and a complete portal in 1990. In the year 2003 Yahoo! Search became a web-crawler oriented search engine. The search results were incorporated in all of Yahoo!'s sites which had search capabilities and which were powered by the joint capacity of the search engines that Yahoo! had taken over.
The Bing Search was originally known as Live Search, Windows Live Search, and MSN Search. It is a search engine owned by Microsoft Corporation. As of July 2009 Bing Search is powered by Yahoo! Search. Initially known as MSN Search, it started in 1998. During that period all the search results were from Inktomi. The fist beta version of the Windows Live Search came into existence in 2006 with added features like the search tabs which included Web, news, images, music, desktop, local, and Microsoft Encarta.
