When it comes to beautifying your custom fish tanks it is important to consider some different kinds of rock, coral and other hard decor. The kind of fish tank you intend setting up will affect your choice as will the sort of fish you are going to purchase.

Should you be installing a marine fish tank and have some cash to spend it is important to get some Lava Rock. This does not originate from a volcano as suggested by its name but it may be man made especially for use in an aquarium. It is ideal for setting up rock formations in a salt-water aquarium.

Slate will work best whether or not you want establishing freshwater or saltwater custom fish tanks. It is heavy and you must purchase the type that is ideal for use in a fish tank but fish will use it for spawning. They may also enjoy exploring any caverns or formations you have made using the slate.

In case you are getting coral you can decide to buy the man-made version not least for the reason that the importation of coral is banned in most countries. Coral is attractive and really does add to the appeal of a marine aquarium. Don't use wood because the hazards of poisoning your fish are too high. If budget is an issue don't be silly enough to use gravel that you found in your garden unless it has been scrubbed, disinfected and made suitable for use in custom fish tanks. You cannot always see the risks posed to your fish and it is frightening how easy you can eradicate your fish colony using an unsuitable materials. So be careful!
