It's not every day that one gets the privilege of watching a person literally fade out of sight in front of you, but the day I saw it happen changed the way I look at the world forever.
The psychic development of such a "striking" ability as invisibility may seem far-fetched, but there are actually a remarkable number of very well recorded examples of spontaneous human invisibility on record. There are also many people who have learned how to generate this phenomena at will.
To understand how psychic invisibility is possible, we first need to understand exactly how we see.
There are two parts to seeing. The first part is that reflected light from an object or person needs to reach our eyes. Once this happens, the reflected light is converted into electrical impulses which are sent by way of the optic nerve to the brain. This is a critical step in the mechanics of vision, but the real art of seeing is what happens next.
The second step required to actually see something is for our brains to actively interpret those electrical signals and recreate them into a mental image.
Since there are two distinct parts needed to see something, it makes sense that there are two primary ways of becoming invisible. Each method interferes with one of these parts of how we recognize something.
The first way is a form of telekinesis. It is a way to use psychic skills to warp light so that what reflects off you never arrives at the eye of the viewer. With no reflected light, the eye has no signals to send to the brain so there is nothing to see.
The second way is a means of tricking the brain of the viewer so it does not make the effort to process the visual data that the eye transmitted.
There are actually two ways to accomplish this. The first is a kind of telepathic suggestion that acst on the mind very much like hypnosis. It basically tells the brain of the viewer "you didn't see anything" and so the brain simply ignores the stuff "it didn't see".
The other technique is a way of summoning an external cloud of psychic energy that is right at the verge of the visible spectrum of light. Its existance is so subtle and so bizarre that the brain assumes that it must have gotten bad data from the eye and so it edits the confusing data out of its mental picture, just as it automatically does for the visual distortions created naturally by the "blind spot" in your eyes.
The technique of summoning the cloud of psychic energy is similar to methods of making a "psi-ball" but the amount of energy is much greater, and the energy must be "tuned" into the "quasi-viewable" frequencies that baffle the eye, which is an art in itself!
With enough practice, the "Cloud Method" becomes the cornerstone of many other fascinating areas of psychic development, including the ability to make spontaneous psychic light, and even psychic illusions!
There are actually a few other methods of accomplishing psychic invisibility, but in one way or another each one ultimately boils down to either interrupting how the eye makes and transmits information to the brain, or by tricking the brain into not processing the visual information it got from the eye.
If you are excited by the idea of generating a psychic effect that is objectively verifiable by others, invisibility is a great ability to start with. It takes quite a bit of practice, but it is extremely rewarding and is within the grasp of anyone willing to put the time and effort into it.
