We cannot be an authority in our dreams and neither have we got many choices while we are in our dreams. We get driven involuntary as if we are in trance. But lucid dreaming will help us think do things in our dreams differently. In lucid dreaming we will have an upper hand in everything we feel or do while dreaming. We will be like the master of our dreams. We can take charge and hence can take decisions too. Moreover we can do things and visit place whenever and wherever we like or want to.
Lucid dreams can be anything. From a sci-fi fantasy to an adventure or a fairy tale romance, you can dream about anything. Unlike real life, lucid dreaming has unlimited possibilities. All you need is imagination.
Lucid dreaming is obviously advantageous and more exciting over normal dreaming. This is because whatever happens in the dream can be controlled by the one lucidly dreaming. It doesn't happen involuntarily. Sometimes lucid dreaming becomes so real that we can even start to feel like we are in fact wide awake and everything happening around us are for real.
Words you see while reading won't come out clear and details on certain things may not seem right, such as a clock on your living room that isn't really there might appear when you are lucid dreaming. These could be signs you are lucid dreaming.
Many a times we have certain desires buried in our heart which cannot be true in real life. For example if we want to be in the company of somebody, sometimes it happens that it never becomes possible in a lifetime. Such desires however can be fulfilled while we are lucidly dreaming since in this case there are no limits to fulfilling our heartfelt desires and wants.
All you have to do is change what is happening in a lucid dream, so that what you want to happen in the dream is what the outcome is. Your creative part of your mind controls your dream, you can be with that person and talk to them as though they are still alive or possibly dream of how you prevent their death in the dream.
So is it physically possible to lucid dream? Of course it is, even though the body has a biological need for rest.
However this is not the case since though our body sleeps at night, we are not totally unconscious since a part of our brain called the subconscious remains awake while the other parts of the brain sleeps. Thus lucid dreaming is possible even when we are fast asleep.
There are certain ways to keep a part of the brain alert when the other parts are sleeping in order to manifest lucid dreaming. These are quite simple and also easy to learn and execute.
One way to invoke the lucid dreams is to try and remember your dream when you are awake. You need to make a supreme effort to remember all the minute details and happenings and images in the dream. Record it in your bedside journal and keep it handy for such entries.
But there may be situations when we may not remember anything of what we are dreaming. At such instances we need to relax since the dreams are bound to repeat themselves. Then as soon as we are awake we should make a record of the images that we have seen and these records may help as a lucid dreaming record journal for future reference.
But it will not be a problem if we don't recall anything that we have dreamt about. This is because there will be repetitions of the dream and at that time we can put it down in the records. In this way if we continue taking down these records of the dreams that we have dream, we can ultimately have an archive of records related to lucid dreaming.
Try to recall everything you can about your dream, go back to sleep and, if you can, return to where you were before you woke up and you will continue to dream. The dream will occur more than once, so you will have the opportunity to recall more each time it does occur. Recalling more each time you try.
Sometimes it may feel when we are suddenly awake at unusual hours that we were awake all this while and were just being driven by our thoughts. In reality it was lucid dreaming that the person was going through.
Most people are amazed at the ease that this can be mastered with. Self hypnosis can enhance lucid dreams and help in a detailed accurate recall.
Another modern way to enter the realms of lucid dreams is to use a sound technology known as binaural beats which are special frequencies which aim to harmonize the brain waves of the two hemispheres and help you to reach the lucid dreaming state quickly.
