The 2010 Formula 1 Brazilian Grand Prix took place at the Autodromo Jose Carlos Pace in Sao Paulo, Brazil (the Interlagos circuit). This particular F1 race is a 71 lap affair. The circuit length is 4.309 km and the race distance is 305.909 km.

Saturday's qualifying saw a new face taking the pole position for the Sunday race. Nico Hulkenberg of the Williams-Cosworth team was impressive in the qualifying sessions to earn his first ever pole.

Red Bull teammates Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber took second and third place respectively on the starting grid. Fourth position went to Lewis Hamilton of McLaren-Mercedes, while fifth spot went to Ferrnando Alonso of Ferrari.

The lofty first place position didn't last long for Nico Hulkenberg, though. On the first lap, before the first corner, Vettel dove into a gap and passed Hulkenberg to immediately take over the lead.

It was a position he would not relinquish. He drove a controlled, precise race the rest of the way to secure his fourth victory of the 2010 Formula 1 season.

Mark Webber did his best to challenge his teammate for the lead. However, he was experiencing overheating difficulties, which required him to turn down the engine's power.

He managed to maintain his second spot over Fernando Alonso, and garnered a valuable 18 points in his quest for the Drivers Championship. Sebastian Vettel earned 25 points for his win.

It was a decidedly smooth race overall for the RBR-Renault (Red Bull Racing Team). The one-two finish of Vettel and Webber clinched the Constructors Championship for the team.

Ferrari's Fernando Alonso set the second fastest lap of the race. He battled with Nico Hulkenberg who had dropped back after losing his pole position.

In the end, Alonso made his way to third position and secured a spot on the podium in Brazil. His third place finish earned him 15 points and he continues to lead the Drivers Championship, heading into the final race of the season.

This year's Brazilian Grand Prix saw the McLaren-Mercedes team being good, but just not good enough to secure podium positions. Lewis Hamilton and teammate Jenson Button, finished fourth and fifth respectively in Sunday's race, not being able to keep the pace of the Red Bulls.

For his efforts, Lewis Hamilton earned 12 points, while Jenson Button earned 10 points. Jenson Button, the 2009 Champion, is out of the running for this year's title. Lewis Hamilton has an outside chance heading into the final race in Abu Dhabi.

It was a good day for the Mercedes GP team. Nico Rosberg, despite stopping twice because of wheel problems, managed to secure sixth spot.

He earned 8 points. His teammate, the legendary Michael Schumacher took seventh spot and earned 6 points. The team drove a consistent, controlled race to gain this respectable finish.

Pole sitter Nico Hulkenberg had to settle for eighth position in this year's F1 Brazilian Grand Prix. He couldn't hold off the Red Bulls, the Ferrari of Alonso, or the McLaren-Mercedes, and Mercedes GP teams.

He did fight hard to hold off Robert Kubica of Renault who challenged him. Kubica spent the race chasing Hulkenberg, but getting caught in congested track traffic harmed his efforts.

Hulkenberg ended up earning 4 points for his efforts, while Kubica earned 2 points for his ninth place finish. Rounding out the top ten finishers was Kamui Kobayashi of BMW Sauber-Ferrari. He secured 1 point for his strong effort.

The 2010 Brazilian F1 race saw one retirement only, as compared to other races this season. Vitantonio Liuzzi of Force India-Mercedes left the race on lap 50 due to an accident. His race car broke something in the front end and smashed into the wall on the exit to Turn 2.

The non classification of the day was Lucas di Grassi of the Virgin team. His race car suffered rear suspension troubles. This necessitated him spending an inordinate amount of time in the team's garage. Therefore, he ended up nine laps down and wasn't classified for the race.

With their one-two finish at the Brazilian Grand Prix, RBR-Renault secured the Constructors Championship. They lead with 469 points. In second place is McLaren-Mercedes with 421 points. Holding down third position in the Constructors Standings is Ferrari with 389 points.
The Drivers Championship Standings continue to show Ferrari's Fernando Alonso on top with 246 points. In second spot is Mark Webber of RBR-Renault with 238 points. In third spot is Sebastian Vettel of RBR-Renault, who has 231 points. In fourth spot is Lewis Hamilton of McLaren-Mercedes who has 222 points.

Consequently, these four F1 drivers are in the running for the Drivers Title heading into the final race in Abu Dhabi. This represents the first four-way championship fight finish in Formula 1 history. It should prove an exciting final race, and a rousing finish to what has been a very competitive and interesting 2010 Formula 1 season.
