Tulsa poet, Carol Croskery has recently released her latest volume of poetry. For the last two years, this gifted poet has compiled her best works into a captivating poetry collection entitled The Purple Cow. The book, which combines poetry and art, is named for the 1960s' Tulsa coffeehouse and encapsulates Croskery's poignant memories of the art, jazz and poetry of the historic coffeehouse. The Purple Cow is a diverse work of original, free verse poetry. The poems give readers an authentic view of Croskery's interpretation of life, devoting particular interest to themes of nature, music, love and whimsy. Carol Croskery wrote The Purple Cow as a means of artistic expression and bases most of her poetry on real events and people. "I am inspired by people making efforts to achieve in spite of adversities," says Croskery. "And I have always written poetry--it seems that I have to." Woven throughout the pages are photographic samples of the whimsical art of gifted printmaker, Beth March. The artist invited Croskery to add her poetry alongside March's beautiful prints, which resulted in The Purple Cow. Carol Croskery is a psychotherapist and is passionate about her T'ai Chi practice. She has a background in classical music and continues to write poetry. Croskery makes her home in Tulsa with her dog, Emi. Beth March is a San Diego artist and printmaker. Her home is in La Mesa, Ca. where her Severin Gallery is located.
