Our vehicles are all created around internal combustion engines, which require a place for the exhaust to spit out of the engine. If they feel that the muffler is not in a good enough condition to do its job accurately, you may find that your vehicle does not pass inspection. Instead, you'll be asked to have your muffler repaired by a mechanic, which may involve either a simple fix or having to purchase a whole new muffler.
If you find that young children in the car are always falling asleep, even on small jaunts, or that people who get in the car have watery eyes, your muffler may be at fault. Make sure that you learn about your muffler and learn to recognize abnormal sounds, because the sooner a muffler problem is repaired, the better off you and every occupant in the vehicle is.
